Fit Instructions:
Below are some tips on how to take proper measurements.
Height:
With socks on, stand with your heels against the wall and your feet about 200mm (8 inches) apart. Measure from the top of your head (the bald spot if you’re like me) to the floor.
Inseam:
Place a book with a one-inch binder between your legs, pull up on the book until it’s firmly placed in your crotch to mimic the pressure of a bicycle saddle. Measure from the top of the book to the floor. (Do not use the inseam printed on your trousers, it’s about as reliable as a Yugoslavian automobile.)
Body:
In the same stance, measure from your sternum notch (hole at the top of your ribcage) to the floor.
Leg:
Measure from the hip bone (the protruding bone at the hip) to the floor (the flat thing you’re standing on).
Arm:
Locate the bony lump on the top of your shoulder and measure from said bony lump to the “V” in-between your thumb and index finger.
Shoulder:
Remember that bony lump on the top of your shoulder? Find it again and measure from there to the bony lump on the other shoulder.
Weight:
Be honest. It will help in determining the proper tube set I use and will give you a better ride.
Foot Size:
Pretty obvious – use the size from your cycling shoe.
All Civilian custom steel frames are tig welded and made from only the finest materials from various manufacturers – Columbus, Reynolds and True Temper. The tube selection is always based on the individual rider’s height, weight and riding style. Often making it advantageous to mix and match tubes to create the best possible frame for the particular rider.
